Water Sports
Our water sports lessons prioritise safety and environmental awareness. We believe in small group sizes to ensure personalised attention and a fun learning experience. As the only RYA sailing and windsurfing centre in Kenya, we provide internationally recognized skills and knowledge.
We offer tailored training for both youth and adults, starting from ages 8 and above. Courses can be structured as intensive sessions or spread across weekends, with modular flexibility that allows continuation at any RYA Training Centre worldwide. Sailing
We base all our RYA sailing and windsurfing courses around 16 hours of teaching time, this gives our students plenty of time to get the hang of the on water skills and the theoretical aspects of the courses. Includes RYA logbook and certificate.

Adult Courses

BEGINNER
This course provides an introduction to sailing for novices, by the end of this course you will have a basic understanding of dinghy-handling techniques and background knowledge. No prior knowledge or experience is needed to take up this course. -
BEGINNER
On completion of this course you will have a basic knowledge of sailing in light winds without an instructor on board. This course includes skills such as man overboard recovery and picking up moorings. Students must have completed Level 1 before starting this course. -
INTERMEDIATE
This improver course seeks to bridge the gap between start sailing, basic skills and the advanced modules by offering an introduction to the different modules, allowing sailors to select more easily their preferred route within the sport. This course includes building on core skills & sailing background from the first two courses. The advanced modules include; seamanship skills, spinnakers, race skills & intro to performance sailing.
Youth Courses (8-14 YO)

During this course you will learn the basics of sailing, parts of the boat and how to launch, recover and steer. The students will be able to sail across the wind and understand the basic principles of sailing. No prior knowledge or experience is needed to take up this course.

You will continue to develop basic sailing skills as well as ropework and collision avoidance. You will be able to tack and control boat speed, leaving you in a good position to progress to stage 3.

In this course you will continue to develop rigging and sailing techniques, capsize recovery and sailing theory as well as launching and recovery skills. On completion of this course, you will be able to launch and sail a dinghy around a triangle in moderate conditions.

Learn to sail a double-handed boat as crew or helm applying all the skill you have learnt up to and including Stage 3, as well as gaining a new variety of skills afloat.
Windsurfing
With two windy seasons annually, Kenya is an ideal spot for mastering windsurfing skills. The full course lasts around 16 hours.
Includes RYA logbook and certificate.

Adult Courses

This is the first course in the RYA windsurfing scheme. There are no prerequisites to Start windsurfing other than a degree of water confidence. It is a gentle introduction to the sport of windsurfing, teaching you the basics so you can turn the boat around, sail to where you want to go and get back to shore.

NON PLANING
The intermediate course is split into two competencies and further clinics to encourage smooth progression. The aim of this level is simply to enhance techniques. You will use the Fastfwd Formula to make launching slicker, turn faster, slip into the harness and adapt your stance to cope with more power.
Youth Courses (8-14 YO)

This is an ideal first introduction with no prior experience needed. Youth stage 1 will teach you the basics of getting on the water and sailing the board across the wind and back.

During your Youth Stage 2 course your instructor will teach you the knowledge and practical skills to get you sailing around, practising tacking and gybing and enabling you to make progression towards and away from the wind. It is assumed before taking the course that you will have mastered the practical skills and background knowledge from Youth stage 1.

Once you have mastered the practical skills and knowledge required in Youth stage 2, it’s time to hook in and hang on! During this stage your instructor will help you set up your board rig correctly, enhance you stance on all points of sailing and introduce basic harnessing technique int stronger winds.
POWERBOAT
Provides the skills and background knowledge needed by the competent powerboat driver and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence.

It aims to teach boat handling and seamanship in powerboats. It focuses on low speed close quarters handling, man overboard recovery, an introduction to driving at planing speed, and collision regulations. The course can be taken at an inland or coastal location. It may be conducted in a variety of boat types, both planing and displacement. The certificate issued will be endorsed to show the type of boat in which the training took place.

Water Skiing, Wakeboarding and Tubing
